Summer camp takes kids out of the traditional learning environment and allows them to explore what it means to be connected to humanity, to develop a sense of wonder and grace. Campers return home more confident, independent, compassionate and resilient. They have greater respect for the natural environment, more enthusiasm for learning and problem-solving and are more community-minded.
Summer camp has been shown to accelerate learning not just for campers but for staff-in-training and even paid staff. The benefits are immersive and lifelong.

Open Enrollment at Rock Springs Ranch
In Kansas 4‑H, we believe in the power of young people. We see that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us. This belief guides everything we do at Rock Springs Ranch so we now offer OPEN ENROLLMENT to include young people who don’t currently belong to 4-H. Our goal is to deliver all the benefits of a 4-H experience to every child or young adult who wants it. This also means our current 4-H campers can bring their friends, even if they aren’t currently a member.
